An Huy Nguyen is one of the most inspired and dynamic artists of his generation. A conceptual artist, his practice incorporates performance, installation, photography and painting. He moves in, out and between exhibition spaces, urban and rural environments. He has participated in a wide range of art projects in Vietnam and internationally, including ‘Connect’, part of the Singapore Art Museum’s ‘Post- Doi Moi: Vietnamese Art After 1990′ (2007), and the NIPAF performance art festival in Nagoya, Japan (2008). HIs work was included in ‘Tam Ta’ at Bui Gallery (Hanoi) and San Art (HCMC) (2010), and in ‘Lim Din’ at Sternerson Museum in Oslo, Norway (2009). In recent years, Huy An has emerged as a core member of a group calling themselves ‘APPENDIX’, that experiments with slow, meticulously staged performance works throughout the city.
